Jack Newton

Jack Newton is considered by his peers to be one of the most prolific astrophotographers of this age. His pioneering technique with the telescope and CCD camera is defined by his constant pursuit to push the boundaries of amateur astronomy and astrophotography. The final result of his images taken with his Meade 16" LX200 and Pictor 1616XT Imager often rival those taken with some of the world's largest telescopes.

Newton's celestial imagery has been published around the globe and never ceases to amaze amateurs as well as the most experienced professional astrophotographers.

An author and co-author of several books, Newton has helped thousands of amateurs throughout the years to learn more about astronomy and astrophotography. Titles that bear his name include:

    Deep Sky Objects
    (Gall Publishers, Toronto, 1977)

    The Cambridge Deep Sky Album
    (Cambridge University Press, 1983)

    Guide to Amateur Astronomy
    (Cambridge University Press, 1984)

    Splendors of the Universe
(with Terence Dickenson, Firefly Books, 1997)

As inspiring as Newton's imagery can be, nothing replaces seeing him in person at one of his lectures, or to work side-by-side with him at his Florida Imaging Center, or at the Newton Observatory over Lake Osoyoos in Canada. The Imaging Center and the Newton Observatory offers the rare opportunity to learn from one of the greatest imagers in all of modern astronomy, while Jack and his wife Alice pamper you in complete luxury at these unique bed & breakfast settings.

Jack Newton is available for in-store telescope demonstrations, lectures, book signings, on-site consulting for observatory installations, and for one-on-one on-location teachings in high-resolution CCD astrophotography.

Those seeking Mr. Newton's services are required to pick up all expenses and pay a daily honorarium fee. For more details on the above, contact Jack Newton directly by e-mail at jack@jacknewton.com, by phone at (352) 490-9032, or visit the Jack Newton web site at www.jacknewton.com.
