Central Oregon Astronomical Society is composed of 45 members.
The Central Oregon Astronomical Society (COAS) is an association of persons interested in promoting and enjoying the science of astronomy in a relaxed social setting. COAS encourages, teaches, and coordinates the activities of members involved in observational astronomy, computational astronomy, and telescope building. The Society promotes the protection of Central Oregon's beautiful dark skies through the use of motion sensors and shields on necessary outdoor lighting and the elimination of unnecessary outdoor lighting.
