Astronomer John Mosley demonstrates how to make a dry ice comet.

"Making a Comet in the Classroom" was written by Dennis Schatz from the Pacific Science Center in 1985, and is one of the outreach resources distributed by the National Optical Astronomy Observatory (NOAO).

"Create a Comet With Dry Ice' is a video presented by Art Chmielewski a project manager from the Jet Propulsion Laboratory for the European Space Agency's Rosetta Mission, launched in 2004 to catch and land a robot on Comet 67 P/Churyumov- Gerasimenko in 2014.

Description

"Making a Comet in the Classroom" features a recipe for making a dry ice comet for classroom demonstrations. The resulting "comet" is a very effective demonstration that is dramatic and memorable, and shows how comets work.

"Create a Comet With Dry Ice" features through video how to safely handle dry ice while making the model of a comet, as well as how to mix and demonstrate the "comet".
